The CSB-SCB podcast is owned and operated by the Canadian Society for Biomechanics. Student Representatives, Jackie Zehr and Franziska Onasch, interview experts (academics, industry professionals, practitioners) about the science and practice of biomechanics. Interdisciplinary topics are discussed with a particular focus on research, technology, evidence-based practice, and knowledge translation in the field of biomechanics. New episodes are released on the first Monday of each month. Guest Biography:
Dr. Cheryl Kozey is a Professor in the School of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University. She further holds cross-appointments in the School of Biomedical Engineering, School of Human Health and Performance, and she is a Nova Scotia Health Authority Affiliate Scientist in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Kozey has earned a Bachelor’s in Physical Education (University of New Brunswick), a Master’s in Biomechanics (University of Waterloo), and a PhD (Dalhousie University). As the co-director of the Dynamics of Human Motion Laboratory, Dr. Kozey’s research aims to understand the functional decline in populations with bone and joint disorders, specifically knee osteoarthritis and low back pain. Her research team is multidisciplinary with collaborations by researchers from engineering, physiotherapy, kinesiology, and clinical backgrounds. Dr. Kozey has a history of service and recognition with the CSB. In 1999 she joined the Executive Committee as a Member at Large, she was the Conference Chair for the 13th CSB meeting held in Halifax (2004), and in 2016, she was a recipient of the CSB Career Award and was inducted as a Fellow of the Society
