The CSB-SCB podcast is owned and operated by the Canadian Society for Biomechanics. Student Representatives, Jackie Zehr and Franziska Onasch, interview experts (academics, industry professionals, practitioners) about the science and practice of biomechanics. Interdisciplinary topics are discussed with a particular focus on research, technology, evidence-based practice, and knowledge translation in the field of biomechanics. New episodes are released on the first Monday of each month. For questions and inquiries, email students@csb-scb.com. --- Le podcast CSB-SCB est détenu et exploité par la Société Canadienne Biomécanique. Guest Biography
Dr. Clark Dickerson is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo with cross-appointments to the Departments of Systems Design Engineering and Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. He is also the Canada Research Chair in Shoulder Mechanics. Dr. Dickerson completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Alfred University, his masters in bioengineering at Clemson University, and his PhD in biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan. As the director of the Digital Industrial Ergonomics and Shoulder Evaluation Lab (DIESEL), Dr. Dickerson’s research program uses novel biomechanics techniques to study shoulder function and dysfunction. This information is used to inform practical applications across many human activities, including occupational, sport and exercise, and leisure contexts. In 2010, Dr. Dickerson was awarded the CSB David Winter Young Investigator Award in recognition for his early career research. He further served on CSB-SCB executive as the conference chair for the 2014 WCB conference held in Boston, Massachusetts and was the Society’s President for the 2014-2016 term.
